Welsh Love Spoon in Stained Glass

The Welsh love spoon has long been a gift of devotion - carved, cherished, and shared as a symbol of affection and commitment. This glass interpretation carries that same spirit into a new medium: a luminous stained-glass panel where colour and texture reflect love’s enduring presence.

Each spoon is handmade using the copper foil stained glass technique. Since every sheet of glass is unique, no two pieces will ever be the same. You are welcome to request the colours of the decorative panels in the order notes, while trusting the artist to select complementary glass for balance and beauty.

Whether gifted for a wedding, an anniversary, or simply as a lasting expression of affection, the glass love spoon brings depth and radiance to the home. It can be displayed on a handmade wooden stand or placed in a window, where changing light animates its meaning.

Each piece is made to order, and you’re welcome to choose the colours of the Glass Love Spoon in the order notes. I will then carefully select the glass textures and tones that bring those choices to life, ensuring your piece is harmonious, unique, and truly one of a kind. If you do not provide any colour preferences, I will use the colour scheme from the pictures shown.

You can choose glass that's transparent - like in the pictures, where light shines through, or you can choose opaque glass (non-see through) for a shelf display with no light behind. If you'd like to see a mock-up of the colours chosen ahead of making the Love Spoon - I will share it via email upon your request - please mention that in the order notes.

Typical lead time for pre-orders is 3-6 weeks. If you have a specific date in mind, please mention it in the order notes and I’ll confirm whether it can be accommodated. For pieces needed in under 3 weeks, I recommend choosing a ready-to-ship artwork instead.

Currently, I only ship within UK mainland. Due to UK REACH regulations on leaded glass, I’m unable to ship to Northern Ireland, the EU, or overseas destinations such as the USA, Canada, or Australia.

Materials & Care

This piece is handmade using the copper foil stained glass technique. It contains solder made from lead and tin, and lead came may be present. For safety, please wash hands after handling. This is decorative glass art intended for indoor display and is not a toy - keep out of reach of children and pets.

Art glass used in this piece may contain natural variations such as roll marks, bubbles, light texture, or uneven surfaces. These are not defects, but beautiful characteristics of handmade glass that should be celebrated.

Wires used are made from copper and tinned for durability; chains are metal, and string hangings use natural jute or satin ribbons. Stands are made from UK-sourced natural wood, typically oak or yew, as shown in the listing. The solder is finished with either black or copper patina or left silver, and protected with specialty finishing compounds to reduce oxidation and extend the life of the piece.
